2. Representation

Representation.

The bold fonts of my magazine represents it to be quite exciting. The use of sans serif represents how informal and relaxed the indie genre is.

RED represents anger, violence and aggression. By using red in the magazine it represents that the genre can be violent and aggressive and shows that it is masculine.
BLUE represents relaxation and being calm. I have used some blue in my magazine, it represents it to be happy and relaxed.
BLACK represents the genre to be mysterious and is related to death. As I have put black and white together it does represent it to be formal. There is a colour scheme going on and represents it to be quite ordered.

The images are of people who wear things like leather jackets, skinny jeans and accessories. This represents the genre to be again, relaxed and calm. Their clothes and body language isn't serious and the genre is represented to be fun and weird. It is stereotypical that the teenagers wear this types of clothes because they get represented as rebellious and exciting. In my magazine I represented the indie genre by the use of clothing and colours,I mainly used red and blue colours to connote the calm and weird stereotypes of indie.
